Hello. My name is Nakajima and I'm in charge of applying for Relationship-based visa.
We have been asking foreigners to notify the Immigration Bureau of the change, but since June 29, the address has been changed by mail, so I’m going to inform you
I inform you again about the notification system. Let's review♪
It's surprisingly easy to overlook :( ,“I heard it for the first time even though I lived for a long time!” Some people say that sometimes. If you fail to notify them, the longest period of stay will not be granted when you renew.
You can file the notification at the Regional Immigration Bureau's counter, by mail, or on the Internet, so be sure to do so if there are any changes.
Then I will guide you by each status of residence!
Those whose visa is based on their affiliation or activity organization (excluding Artist, Religious Activities, and Journalist)→
Please report if there is a change in the name of the institution, location, contract termination with the institution, disappearance of the institution, transfer, etc.
Affiliation/activity organization, for example
" Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services " "Intra-company transferee" → Company, etc.
"Medical Activities" → Hospitals, etc.
"Professor" → University etc.
*If you have a status based on your relationship, such as "Spouse of Japanese", you do not need to submit a notification regarding the institution.
・A person who have a status based on those whose spouse→
Please report if you divorce your spouse or if your spouse dies.
※Please notify them within 14 days after the change occurs.
Requirement documents are a notification form and a document that proves your identity.
For those who have a working visa when changing jobs, for those who have a marriage visa when divorcing or bereavement, please refer this (new) address if you want to report by mail.

If you are submitting to the Tokyo Immigration Bureau, the procedure is as before
Please be assured that there is no change
The Immigration Bureau asks the "Organizations" who has started or finished accepting foreign nationals who have a work permit, training, or a residence permit (visa) for study abroad to cooperate with the notification.
Although it is not mandatory, it seems that if you do not submit the notification, you may be carefully examined when applying for permission to renew the period of stay of foreigners who belong to your organization.
I think it's a hassle, but I would appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
I think everyone is busy, but this is an important procedure.
Let's make a proper notification so that you don't have to say "I wanted a permit for 5 years to stay in Japan...".
