Of course, you do not have to change your visa.
As a premise, the marriage visa is granted when their marriage has been legally valid. In japan, common-law marriage cannot yet be a ground for the marriage visa. If you are preparing for the marriage, please register first, and then think about the visa application.
The application requires unique documents like your photos and is different from the other applications. If you are unsure about it, please ask a Certified Administrative Procedures Specialists.
Thank you for reading.
