In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Immigration Bureau decided to extend the expiry date of the short-term visitor for 3 months as an emergency measure.
This special case is applied to the short-term visitors whose visa expires in March, April, May, June, July of 2020.
If you cannot return to your home country by the expiry date, please go to the Immigration Office and extend your visa.
When to apply: Until 3 months from the expiration date
Necessary documents: Passport, Application form, Fee (4,000 yen)
Application place: Immigration Bureau
Examination Period: Same day
Granted period of stay: 90 days
